Last night I was searching around on Craigslist and found an ad that a Kirby dealer put on, for refurbished vacuums. I called this morning and he said that he had a "White and blue Electrolux and it runs great!" I drove down and picked it up. It was $30, which is a great deal!

It just needed a good cleaning and was good to go. *As far as I know* it came with everything, except the Sidekick.

What year was this made in? And where could I get a replacement hose for CHEAP?

(PS: This pic was taken BEFORE the cleanup)

If I am not mistaken I believe that this vacuum was made around 1992-1993 and u could get a good hose just about any where because that vacuum has the same style most of the Canadian electroluxs had and most vac shops should carry replacements I know at AERUS they will run u about $150. Zach

Yayyyyyyy! Electrolux

That was a fantastic buy. Now I wonder why would someone who has taken such good care of an expensive Electrolux would trade it in for a Kirby? Now I like Kirby's but they are so different in use from an Electrolux . That always was interesting to know why you would make the change-if you weren't a vacuum collector. We had the same thing happen when I sold Elecftrolux years ago. Some customers just LOVE to get the latest model Electrolux.
It always seemed like an easier sale if the customer already had an expensive door-to door machine than to try and sell to someone who had a cheap Hoover,Eureka or Sears vacuum. Of course this was YEARS ago. I am sure things have changed.
Looks like you got a nice machine and wonderful price.

Thanks for your input!
I got to go in the warehouse of the building and it was FILLED with plastivacs. Lots and lots of Dysons. Yuck.

They did have a few more interesting trade-ins back there. A few Rainbows, some older Kirbys, and the best, an Amway!

The bottom half looks to be from the later white Epic 6500 (?). Nevertheless, a great find for a great price.

You might try an Aerus dealer for a used hose. I got one for $50, and its in excellent shape.

I've come to really like the Epics; a great series of machines. I have the gray and white editions of the 6500, and am now on the hunt for the blue 6500 and 6000, like yours. If you can get a good condition vinyl hose and (possibly, in the future) a Sidekick, you'll have a damn good cleaning system.
