Hi, Miele collectors. The Platinum Limited Edition is becoming more and more rare, especially in mint condition. This ebay auction is worth sharing with you. I paid twice that price for mine, in perfect condition, and this one appears just as good. That's an excellent price, especially considering it includes shipping. So, check this out if you want a Platinum in your collection.

Unless you have your own secret (and you probably do) use Kirby Lickity Split to remove paint scuffs from the finish or bumpers of a Miele. It works perfectly and is harmless to the finish. I get a lot of complements on the appearance of my machines, and I do insist that anything in my collection look essentially flawless. Lickity Split is how I deal with paint scuffs on all my machines. Without it, I'd honestly have a smaller collection. Give it a shot.

Patrick, the Miele I had was an S314i if I remember correctly. I used the Intensive Clean bags in it. Prior to getting the Miele, an Electrolux was usually my most often-used vacuum. |

I paid £10 for my s316i, which is basically the same thing but with a knob for the speed control and no PN option... :\ |

No, the White Pearl and Platinum did not. The next generation included two models - the S558 Silver Moon and the S658 Blue Moon - that had the speed controls on the hose handle. The Silver Moon was replaced by the S558 Red Velvet, which also had the handle controls, when the 1200-watt Vortex motor was introduced. (The S658 Blue Moon didn't change names or colors but just gained the 1200-watt motor.) None of those TOL machines had an automatic setting that was a feature of the previous generation's TOL White Pearl and Platinum and the next generation's second-tier models like the Aluminium, Artico, and Champagne.
