Hello everyone!
Here are some pictures from my today´s find. It´s Miele S256i Black Diamond from 1990. This is very rare model of miele here but I am happy to found it. It cost only 12 euros. The suction is great when I put the new filters. I will make a youtube video soon.

Best regards
Markus

Congrats on that addition!! The Black Diamond is a scarce machine. I'm glad you now have one in your collection. I have a decent Miele collection, and I don't have a Black Diamond, nor have I ever even seen one in person. Again, congrats!

Very cool! It looks a lot like my Miele Plus, but the Miele Plus doesn't have such a sophisticated motor speed control.... it's just a knob. No power nozzle?

Very nice looking machine. I was in Finland in June and you can't buy much of anything there for 12 Euro.

This is my first post. I own the exact same model - it still works, having been serviced once. Can anyone tell me what the voltage is as I recently found out that EU regs don't allow for such a high voltage any more.
Thanks!

Is there not a rating plate on the underside? Also the one Markus has indicates 1100 - which may well mean it has been rated at either 1300 watts or slightly more. It is still within EU law remember - its only over 1600 watts that classes a vacuum energy in-efficient. For the moment.

It's the wattage that has been limited, not the voltage. But it is only the manufacturing of high wattage machines that has been banned. It is still perfectly acceptable to sell those which were made before the ruling, and likewise they can still be used in homes.

In the UK (and presumably Ireland), the Miele S256i Black Diamond is even more powerful, with a maximum power output of 1200 Watts, presumably because we use a higher voltage over here (240 volt, as opposed to 220 V on the continent).
