Welcome to the family...Mint MOL Kenmore 3.5 PowerMate Canister from 1982...My Sears catalogs tell me this was MOL and retailed for $264.95...don't think I would have paid that much as it's not as nice as my 1980 TOL "Sears Best" Kenmore PowerMate Canister...and this one is more compact/small in size...not as big as my 1980 TOL model.

This is all original, never been used, attachments were never used and came with the original box.  The only thing missing is the Manual.  There is slight discoloration of the white bumpers even Mr. Clean Eraser and Bleach wouldn't take out the discoloration.  :(  The original hose has some slight discoloration as well, but all original, no splits/tears etc.  I gave it a good cleaning this morning even though it wasn't used, just dusty...

It's Model 116.21964  8amps without powermate and 11 amps with...has really strong suction for a small canister...

It's part of the canister family now...lol

:)

That is one cute little stinker, like it a lot! Love little smaller.

Careful with that attachment door

We had that same model. The little tabs that hold the attachment door will break quite easily. The motor outlasted two hoses and two power nozzles. Finally dropped it off at Goodwill last year.
Nice little reminder from my past. My mom bought it as a replacement for her Electrolux Model G after a friend showed her how much more economical it would be than a new Electrolux. The bags were always difficult to find because you had to have a number that was a gazillion digits long, and we could never remember it. And the hoses were quite expensive from Sears. We stored the floor brush in that attachment compartment. Maybe that's how the tabs broke off the door. It was a tight fit.
Thanks for the little trip down memory lane.
Jay

I know that was made in 1981 but I can't decipher what week it was made

Wow that is a sweet looking Kenmore! I had bought one at a thrift store a couple years ago but that one looks pristine!
