Is there a set of Model 0 attachments anywhere that someone in the club has access to? When I visited the Hoover Historical Center in 2000 I didn't see attachments displayed with the Model 0 or any of the earliest machines.

I never thought to ask then; but I have often wondered if a set still exists at all!

Does anyone know? How about you, Tom Anderson: when you were inside the vault, did you see a Model 0 and did it have attachments?

WOW

Gee Kyle, how are you finding all these amazing vacuums? Did you sell your soul to Satan or something?! hahaha :)

Seriously, I'd love to see photos of the Model O attachments! Never seen 'em, never knew they existed.

Modle O attachments

Our long time Hoover dealer and warranty shop here in columbus, Weisheimer's Vacuum Service had an O and attachments
on Display. I'll double ck this weekend if I get down there.
The Grandson's of the orginal owners still run the store which has diversified into Janitoral supplies and equipment.

I've posted this link before, but at the top of this page on my site, you can see a Model O being used with its tools.

No, I am sorry, but during my trip to the "vault" I did not see a model O Hoover. I did see many boxes of tool sets but did not have time to go through them all. I am sure that they have a set. I know the Historical Center has several model O cleaners but no tool sets. I have used a model O but have never used the tools.

Kyle...

You should post your model O manual. Or at least you could scan it and send it to Fred Neslon to post here. That would be awesome!

I am constantly stunned at how great your site is. Everytime I see it, I think "Wow, I wish I had done that job of research". Though I have a lot of info that I've gathered, you did the job of publishing it and making it available to us all. Thanks for the beautiful site. Somewhere I have seen other pictures of Model 0 tools, but I can't remember where...anyway, beautiful site.

Thanks John, it's kind words like those which make all the work worthwhile :)

I'm currently adding more bits and pieces to the site, hence some machines have pictures but no info and vice versa!

And Kyle, I'm sure many of us here would love to see pictures of your Model O's tools, and scans of the manual if you have a chance!

Speaking of toolkits...

Finally completed my Model 700 ensemble this weekend, with some tools found on eBay. Interestingly, all the tools have 'Patent Applied For' stamped on them, which perhaps makes them an early set? The 'Carriage Paid Home' sticker on the tool box uses the same orange and black design as the manual and advertising - such thought put into every detail!

All I need now is an original bag :(

Thanks! The 700 was also an eBay bargain a couple of years ago - £9.99 and the seller delivered it, so no postage! Oddly, many of the cleaners in my collection which look the best are the ones I've paid little or nothing for. Is this true for anyone else?

Here's a better pic:

700 Hoover

Hi Jack Very nice Hoover 700. I love those old wonderful vacuums as to the CRAP PLASTIC they make today. Hoover has gone to all plastic what a shame. Your 700 has a nice shine. I also have a 700. Take care Doug

Good Vacuums At Low Prices

I also find cheap vacuums that look quite good. The best example is a Hoover 541 I bought on ebay with all of the attachments, and the owners manuals (3 differnt ones), and two bags(unoriginal but genuine, one with bag spreader). I was the high bidder at $5.00. No competition of any kind. Shipping was good and the seller was one of the best. It ran fine but needed a fair deal of restoration.
