Hillbilly Vac Shop has some rare machines for sale! They have a Dirt Devil Roomate, a Eureka Vanguard, and a Bissell PowerPArtner Upright I think it is? As well as an Electrolux 89. Are the prices the have on those machines any good?

Sorry, it is a Eureka Cordaway, not a Vanguard. But is has the boxtop bag.

Well, I noticed they can't seem to read, "Kirby Classic Vac - Blue", and the handle says "Tradition".............. :\

I think they're a bit too expensive aswell...

I found these guys about a year ago, and I always found they wanted outrageous prices for Electrolux machines, they wanted $250 for an AP280! It's too bad because at some points they have very nice machines, and sometimes have most, if not all, the matching tools.

Outrageous Prices...

They must not be doing too well if they charge almost $800 for a Kirby G6!

I thought the same thing.... the prices for those older vacs are crazy, but they are nice machines.

One should consider that they are not selling vacuums in as-is condition such as you would find in a yard sale.  They no doubt are investing a fair amount in replacement parts and labor to put these vacuums in top condition again.  They are, after all, doing this as a profit-making business, not just a hobby on weekends.  I suspect that after seeing a demo and finding out the price of a brand new Kirby, many people opt to buy a refurbished model at a considerable savings.  If this outfit isn't selling anything at the prices they are asking they wouldn't still be in business.

Well first off..

I have personally contacted this guy and the site should not even be up anymore. It is not updated, he does not have ANY of those used machines anymore. He told me this for a fact. So be very cautious if you plan on buying from this store.

I agree, they have their machines priced high. I wonder if people actually buy some of the really expensive machines from them.

Pretty suspicious

Vac shop. Don't buy from Hillbilly Vac Shack! Otherwise you'll be waiting forever for any of those vacs & may never ever even come to your door at all.

Thanks Kyle K. for the careful advice; U saved lots of us collectors from being ripped off by Hillbilly.

A few vac shops (where I used to live) were the same way. Sadly, I took a vac to the local shop for repair & it took me MONTHS to get it back.

I can imagine their store being like that scene from Pulp Fiction where Butch and Marcellus Wallace roll into the pawn shop whilst fighting. I just hope to God that there's a samurai sword on a shelf somewhere! lol

Ya they do have some ver nice vacuums but I find them to be a little expensive like for example the z89 I think they have it listed for $199 with the original hose I wouldn't spend that much on a vacuum that old just my opinion. Zach
