I have a question about the Eureka model 5048B. I picked this vacuum up at a thrift store when I was still living in Pittsburgh, which would have been somewhere around 2004 or so. Since moving in 2006, I have found that this vac handles my area rugs better than my Convertibles, Kirbys, or anything new that I have tried. It sees almost daily use, and I was wondering about the durability of the self-propelled drive mechanism.

Seeing as this is an older vacuum and sees close to daily use, I would hate to have it fail, as it performs so well. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with these machines?

Thanks loads,

Joe

P.S. Sorry for the large photo - I shot the vac on my phone, and had to fiddle a bit to get a usable picture and man, is it huge!

Nice looking machine. I wonder about my Concept for same reason.
