Yesterday I visited a vac shop I had never been to, and I found a Dimension 1000 that had my name written all over it! I have wanted one of these for a long time but it seems anytime that I have come across one it looked like it had been to hell and back or all or part of it did not function. This one had been used but definitely taken care of. For the small price of $35.00 I was able to add a much lusted after piece to my collection. The only things it needed were a new light bulb and new brush strips. I got the bulb but I am having a difficult time finding the brushes. I took the power nozzle completely apart and it got a trip through the dishwasher and came out as good as new.

I really wanted to take the vacuum itself apart to give it a thorough cleaning, but I decided since it was working perfectly I should probably leave well enough alone. Normally I would not hesitate but I was not sure what exactly was involved with the electronic control of the vac and did not want to risk screwing it up. I did get the inside of the bag chamber as clean as new.

The tools appear to have had little use if any.

It had very few scuffs or scratches and polished up perfectly with some PlastX.

The power nozzle turned out great.

I had plenty of other vacs that need my attention, and normally it takes me longer then just two evenings to finish a project, but this baby took priority over the rest! I could not be happier with the finished product.

Looks sharp! Glad to hear you were able to add one from your wish list

Congrats...looks great...I love my Dimension canister as well...

I had an electronic model years ago, think it was the S3283...but sold it...I found a mint S3491 with it's original box here locally on CraigsList...I couldn't believe they were only asking $20.00...LOL I set up the sale ASAP....Owner's said they bought it but never used it, sat in the box in a closet for years...WOW I ordered new brush strips from E-Bay...really wasn't looking for them, but they popped up in one of my regular searches for Hoover Parts...it's hit or miss but you will find them... I use this Dimension all the time...LOVE IT!

Great machine, and you did an excellent job on it!

However, "if it had YOUR name all over it" - then it would be a reginafan 1000 now wouldn't it?

tehehehehe.....

Again, great job Corey and your home looks wonderful!

Rick

On top of those stores we also had Murry's, SaveRite, Ann&Hope, and TrueValue also sold the Dimention 900. Im unsuer if they sold the 1000. Ann&Hope also had both versions of the Supermacy (Dimention/Futura). Ann and hope sold the 1000 for around $300.00 and Sears and Ann&Hope sold the 1000 electronic for $500.00 usualy they went on "sale" for 50 bucks less. The 900 was around 200.00.

I don't recall how much SaveRite had them for. Id imagine for around the same prices. Murry's and JcPenny I think were a little higher.
