The maintenance man at my school gave me 2 Sanitaire SC886's that were no longer being used and were cluttering up the storage room

COOL!-The price is right-they are good machines-perform better than most clean air uprights.Relatively easy to maintain and repair-the most common commercial upright-real workhorses. What type of bags do they have-there are bag options for these machines-cloth dump bags-cloth outer bag that uses F&G paper bags-and a dump cup cloth bag.I have one that has the dump cup bag.I also have a "wide sweep" version under the "Advance" name that has the cloth dump bag.Got both on sale at vacuum stores.

they both have dump out bags

they really work well considering they are both over 15 years old.

let's see if a windsor still works 15 years from now!

Windsors are real workhorses

I'm betting they'll be running fine in 15 years.

Actually most commercial uprights are VERY lucky to survive 15Yrs-any brand.Mostly depends on how they are treated and used. Most commercial uprights are junked after only a few years of use.One college out here beats up their Sanitaires something bad.Fans, fancases, belts and brushrolls are the most copmmon victims-and the cloth bags-the school here uses dump bags. One Sanitaire vac from Wendys here had a dead mouse caught in the fan dishcarge opening-the user wondered why the machine smelled bad when it was used-this was from a restuarant!Restuarants are especially bad on vacuums-the grease and food debis mixed with the dirt-VERY hard on fans and fancases.Makes a very abrasive "slurry"and it doesnt blow into the bag-lingers in the fancase-abrading both.

I know what you mean

One of my friends owns a restaraunt and I am constantly repairing their commercal Hoover bagless vacuum. They used to have a Panasonic Ultra Pro but that just bit the dust ( no pun intended) a few months ago. I wonder how long the new Hoover will last?
