Some of this belongs in the vintage forum, and some belongs here, and I do not feel like splitting it all up, so here is everything together. We went to South Bend this weekend to run the Sunburst Race and we did quite a bit of vacuum hunting afterwards. First I got the Eureka Canister, 2 Regina Model 59s, Eureka Model K, and a Hoover Model 54*(I think that is it, I'm not sure.) I got all of this for FREE from a vac shop! The guy was very nice, and had a basement full of vacuums! A majority of pretty hard to find ones, but he wanted to hang on to them so he could rebuild them. Next I got the Kirby Classic Omega from an Oreck Store for free. The people that work there know me and they thought I would like it so they saved it for me! It was really nice. The bag is stuffed full, it is so gross. I got the Regina Housekeeper from a Goodwill for $8. It is in mint condition, and only missing the dusting brush. Finally, I found the Panasonic Powerwave, Fantom Lightning, and the Singer from another Goodwill, all for $23. I have a lightning, but I have parts readily accessible for this one so that I can have two good ones. I used to have the same Singer but I gave it to Kyle one of the times he was over.
I'll probably make a thread for the Reginas because those are the two I am the most curious about... Chase |

Oh nice Eureka canister! I saw one on eBay a while ago but I let it slip away... Enjoy it! Very nice, powerful, and loud machines! |

Hey chase. The Hoover is either a 541 or 543. Dose it have a beater bar roller or a all brush tuft roller? A 543 is the first hoover to have a beater bar |

Brandon, it has the all bristle brushroll, and it also has the completely straight handle with a big switch on the base. Not sure if that's original. I checked the model number, and all I could make out was a 54. The third number has worn away. I will start a thread about the Reginas that way it might get more looks.

Cool. That's a 541. The handle and switch are original. The model 700 I believe was the first hoover with a metal handle. Don't quote me on that though. |

The switch placement on the Panasonic Powerwave is awful, but I do love the quick draw wand.... Does it have a bare floor shut off? |

Unfortunately the Lightning didn't come with a power nozzle, but I can get one. We get off for summer break on Tuesday, so hopefully Wednesday I will go out and get parts for it.
This PowerWave does not have a brushroll shut off. Although there may have been a model with it, but I'm unsure. These have SUCH an awkward feeling to them! It literally has a 'wave' in it. The only downside is that the bumper is a bit chewed away, it looks like someone rammed it into something sharp.. =/ |
