WOW, that's an impressive machine. It looks like a cross between vacuum cleaner and lunar land-rover! If only that exhaust filter was shaped more like a satelite dish....
All joking aside, I would love to see how it peforms. |

I just looked at the website. My NASA reference wasn't off the mark! I agree, the website design is annoying to say the least. Still, that's a very impressive vacuum cleaner. |

How does the Wessel Werk P/N with its swivel neck work with the s-shape upper wand? Would think they would work against each other. Or does the W/W cone with two straight wands? |

Hi Everyone,
If you have any more questions, feel free to email / message me. I didn't realize my web link wasn't working when I attached it in the message board messages, thanks again for fixing that Country Guy. www.air-lion.com... Rex, if you are still in Raleigh, you can check for a dealer nearby at the Schoettler toll free number, 1-800-659-9901 Les, the machine can be converted to either Vacuum use for pickup or room deoderizer and filteration with the small intake Medic-Air; it keeps little people fingers and pets out from the machine's intake in Hybrid Mode. Hi Rex,
Sorry about that, my mistake on your location. The same Phone number, toll free should work from your location. We do sell units via shipping or direct to home in person. Either way can be arranged depending on how far the distributor is from you. There is actually a choice of two different bag styles, the open top 'tri star' bag we call them Stormy bags or the Patriot Hybrid Allergy bag - just as you mentioned, for allergy sufferers that want a sealed disposal without dumping dust and stuff everywhere. Pricing is flexible, depending on the packages chosen and options - such as Mini Wessel for Upholstery and Car interiors or air turbine brushes for soft floors. I literally have a spare parts catalogue that comes in two pages. If you need a 15 foot electrified hose, stretchy 20 foot retractable hose, and a menagerie of tools for cleaning just about anything. Hello Kyle,
Rex is referring to like a hepa style bag often made of polypropylene and cloth like in feel. While the allergy bags provide a closed top they are still a paper bag. We collectors tend to be very finicky about our bags. They sent me a sample of these bags a while back and while it was alright I've much preferred using vacuum America clean branded hepa TriStar bags yes I know the bag collar isn't the right shape but they do work, retain airflow better, and keep my cloth bag cleaner. Schottler should really look into getting genuine hepa bags made. A machine in this price point should definitely have them. |

Hi Rex and Devin,
I'm so glad the factory could help you out! We really do exist, honest. I understand now what you both are looking for, and have suggested it. It is the next generation of the true HEPA bags that are cloth not paper. Schoettler is always innovating, so if I get something like that in inventory I'll post about it. I'm glad you got the current promotion, they are priced to move and I think it's a fair deal for the machine. I kinda like the color myself, and the way the design is set up. Did you get a machine with the display or just the mechanical one without digital display? Kyle |

The bags the ones pictured above are good. I have one last bag I got from the original owner who sold it to me. Its performance is much better with those bags. I don't know but it's not a little power difference it's a big difference. I did completely unclog the wands but the envirocare bags and the VAC HEPA put in the machine wasn't running the vacuum to the level of performance the Patriot bags.

Hi Les and Rex,
Yes, the closed top bags do provide better air flow than the standard bags. I don't have a number to exactly give, but I noticed the difference as well. So the Unit will have either a metal service plate faceing upwards with the Patriot logo on it on a machine without the display or will have like a touch screen 'iPhone' sort of screen. To answer your question, what does it do, several things. In Service mode - Essentially checking filter performance is the biggest feature, showing reduced air flow and and over time it will tell you which filter to replace. In Hybrid mode - It also has a 5, 10, 15 minute timer for when it's operating as an air purifier. So you don't have to leave it on and shut it off. Standby Mode - In the standby mode you can pause the machine via the touch screen rather than the foot activated on off switch like manual units. In normal operation it also has an air meter showing operating time and animations showing air flow. Kyle |

Ho John,
I hope this helps, this is the display in normal operation mode with the air meter counter in the top right. You can see the Green Hybrid Mode touch button, and the blue stand bye touch button, as well as the display will show an animation while using instead of the still image. I just don't have a link to a video of it in operation. The Arc Engine shows a blue band when the unit is running, as it is in this still image. Kyle

Hi everyone,
John - I like the placement of it for a lot of reason. It's out of the way, not gimmicky, and durable. They have a fun way of making the Patriot 'evolve' and I enjoy the design and modifications. Rex, I can't wait for you to get your machine. Shipping is usually 5 - 10 business days and average 7 - usually. I hope you enjoy it! I also uploaded a picture of the one page add we have for the display models. You can see where it is on the machine zoomed out rather than the closeup up above. Keep in mind this is the P3 and your P4 will be Purple instead of Blue. Kyle

Hi Rex,
On Display Units, when you turn the machine on - the display will come on - it monitors filter efficiency and the air meter will count down showing the filter animation. It doesn't matter if the Medic-Air front purifier is on the machine in purifier mode or the hose in vacuum cleaner mode. I use the timer on the green touch button to set count downs if I only have a certain amount of time like 10 minutes to get stuff done. One of my female customers turns the timer on because she says her kids have to clean for 15 minutes. The machines without the display just have a metal service plate. Attached. Kyle

Glad to hear your first impressions about your new Patriot. I heard from another collector that it's the best canister with airflow that he's ever measured. So did you actually get to choose whatever color you wanted? Or is it just purple now that they sell today?
Anyways since this thread is about the Patriot, just thought that I wanted to show on what really got my attention about the Patriot. Even though it's an older video. |

Hi Rex,
Congratulations on getting your new machine (non display). They really are well built! I will pass the feedback on to our head office in California! Alex, yes, all units in this P4 series will be purple. Until we change models in 3-5 years. It's really SREC's discretion. Yes, that video is still valid and our head office is continually testing new models and updating their results. Yes, we are 120 CFM, continuously! The highest of any canister vac made! At that level of air flow we can keep the filtration near 100%. Kyle

Hey Alex, there was a time at which the P3 did hold the record for a standard canister (excluding backpacks) with a tested hose airflow of about 116 CFM, since then I have found two machines which surpass that at about 122 and 126.
Certainly not trying to detract from it 116 (with an unknown filter condition) is very impressive and surpasses all but two designs I've tested thus far. |

The Perfect C101, which has seemingly been discontinued measured around 122
and the Kenmore Elite canister with the inducer motor measured in at about 126 There was also the NSS M-1 Pig which measured in around 117 cfm but I don't really think of that as a standard canister due to it's massive size. |

A model with the Wessel Werk EBK 340 or EBK360 power nozzle sounds exciting. Both of those offer very strong agitation and headlights.
I would not be able to purchase a model if it came with the Sebo ET-1 power nozzle as pictured. I've tried a few various brush rolls as Sebo offers bristles of varying stiffness. Sadly they all perform terribly. The agitator removal system for easy cleaning of the brush roll is great and they are made well with reliable parts. If only they made them with a stronger motor to agitate better. |

Is this the perfect motor or the Patriot motor.
If you take off the front butt plug you're going to get at least 2-7 more cfms. I'm not sure if the company founder is alive or one of his two children are running it. He went from IEC to tristar to REC. Where he went great machines are always produced. Tristan MG series is a joke. Les |

Hi Devin,
Thank you for posting that motor pic! I haven't had one pulled apart in a long time! Rex, glad you like the machine! High praise, I've passed on your comments to California as well as other comments people have forwarded to me. Les, Schoettler is still in the family and Harold's son Michael runs the company now, largely. He is the vice president and an excellent guy to do business with! Rob, the machine can be ordered with either ET1 or Wessel, we always give the customer that choice if in stock. Feel free to order a patriot any way you wish, display, no display, wessel EBK 360, Sebo Et1 - extra hoses, different bag types, it's all the customer's choice! Kyle |

vacuum. But it looks super cool!! I want one.
One thing tho - about that smoke/fog test video. I'm not sure about that. Watching all the smoke escape those vacuums....If that represented dust, our houses would be more filthy after vacuuming than before. In other words, there'd be dust all over the place landing on furniture and everything very soon after we finished cleaning. If sun were shining through the window, it would be a dust clouded sunbeam. |
