Nice XXX Hose!

Very nice hose, John. Does it hold suction? It looks like it might!

The 'handle' is of a later vintage (suction relief, AE+)but it really is, OK, I'll say it, FABULOUS! You might consider changing the handle, there is a retaining spring inside where it rotates that will release it. These can be very frustrating to remove OR it might come out easily. Be certain NOT to bend or dent the 'retaining collar' that is attached to the hose. GREAT FIND!

Nice Hose!!!

Hello John

WOW! What a great XXX hose! Does it hold suction? It seems like it might. It certainly has not been abused as most were.

I am guessing you noticed the handle is from a later hose (suction relief, AE or later) If you cared to, you can replace the later handle with an earlier one by removing the sort of 'C' spring located in the pivot area. It can be frustrating, but it can be done and the handle will then just come off easily. Be sure NOT to bend the curved retainer area. Reinstalling the spring is far easier than its removal!!! Either way, it is a 'Fabulous' hose! Way to go!

Good Deal!

I think you got a good deal, even if it's not completely airtight, it'll still look great displayed with the machine. I have the original snakeskin type hose with my XXX, doesn't hold suction, but it looks great displayed with the machine. I think ya did good.

Hose Jackpot

Yes indeed, John! As my Dad would say, "You done good!"

They are hard to find and rarely hold a seal/vacuum at that age. I am fortunate to also have one that is extremely pretty and still seals. I always liked the look or pattern of the 30 hose. Enjoy it! I assume you have a great 30 or XXX to put it with, yes?
