Just trying to find the right handvac for spot cleaning/little mess, and car cleaning. I have come down to two models a) Bissell clean view deluxe handvac and b) shop vac 1 gallon 1x1. Which one do any of you prefer.

I love the new little B&D Flex, so handy, has enough power for the little messes. Like kitty liter on the end table 5 times a day, or the leaves, blossoms on the carpet of the car every day. OCD? Maybe, but that sure helps.I got the Flex at Target on clearance for $33.

I to have the flex, its great for the car and messes around the house. I had considered the Bissell as well but I liked the idea of having a cordless, even though the run time on the flex is rather short I find it great for what I use it for.
The 1x1 is a great choice to as itcan pick up wet spills to, but I think it only comes with one attachment so if I were to get one I'd have to find / buy the rest to make it complete. Also consider the shop Vac all around it's only slightly bigger but it comes with a complete set of attachments.

Thanks for the help guys. I check at wal mart and read on the box it actually comes with three attachments. I think I would prefer an non cordless vac why I say that is because I can take my time vacuuming, and never losses it's power, how the cordless models eventually lose their power and die then have to be recharged.I did see some other tools that can fit on the shop vac tho too.You can't do that with the Bissell tho.So I might buy the shop vac then.

I don't have much experience with corded hand vacs except the classic Dirt Devil one.... that one is no good for cars with a lot of sand.... I thought it would be great because the brushroll would "beat" the sand out, but instead, it just kicks it around and spits it all over the place. I tried that on a car that we had just taken to the beach and it did not work well... nevermind I live in an apartment and had to put one of those long orange extension cords through the window (removing and breaking the screen in the process) because there were no outside outlets....

On the other hand, my Black and Decker Flex is really awesome for cleaning out the car. For as long as I would need it for the task it is designed for, it does a fine job.... if I need heavier/longer cleaning, I use a corded upright or canister. The only problem I've had with the Flex is that the blue LED charging light fails to illuminate when the unit is plugged in, but it's an intermittent problem.... I don't know if the light is just not working right or if the unit really isn't charging when it's not on, but since I've only had it a few months, I can't imagine that it's already broken. I do know that Black and Decker has problems with making lights on their vacuums... back in early 2000s I bought a purple "mini" upright because it was really cute.... it was just a little thing, but it had a hose and a brushroll and even an handle at the bottom to use it as a hand vac. I liked it for the most part, but it had a toe tap switch that you hit once for bare floors and again for carpets.... when you pressed the bare floor option a light would turn on telling you suction only was selected.... press it again, and another light would indicate the brushroll had been activated.... within a month, both lights stopped working completely, though the vacuum continued to work... I took it back to Wal-mart and got a refund.... I was like 18 and I needed the money for my car payment anyway :o)

Good luck with whatever you decide.... I've found that the shop vacs are just so ear splittingly loud I can't use them for anything.... I did try a cordless version of a shop vac once that was really small and was supposed to pick up both wet and dry, but it had no power at all.
