Hello,
I'm not sure if i've heard correctly but i've heard that you can't or shouldn't push a G Series Kirby with Tech Drive in Drive. What is the reason for this?

You mean with the machine off? The wheels lock up if it's in drive and off and I think you will break something if you force it. I have a friend who just got a Kirby G4 for 10 dollars on Craig's List.... he's had Bissell Bagless for all the years I've known him, but from having known me, he realized he needed something better and knew Kirbys were good and that was a good price.... I went over last night and gave him a bag and belt and hand polished it for him with Mothers.... looks great and works so well... my students have learned LOL BUT... I showed him how to adjust it right and very clearly instructed him to set the machine to neutral when it is off!

I want a G4

I really want to add a G4 to my collection. I own the brother of this model the G5, but would like to add a G4 as well as the G Six's twin the Ultimate G not the Diamond Editon.

I had a Kirby G3 that I rebuilt ground up for a friend. They got the transmission all out of whack somehow. Probably moving it in drive when off. I adjusted it a little bit. (they gave it to me to restore)

It now shifts FAR BETTER than any other kirby G series that i have used. I have used and owned every machine from the G5 to the diamond.

It was also extremely quiet. You have to set the screws just right. Oh it was like butter. I loved it!

The G3 is still my favorite G series kirby.

I replaced every trim piece, bag assembly (notice missing logo!) cord and fan/fancase.

Before and after pictures.

I think the color for the G4 was Poweder grey or something. its kind of debatable. Its kind of a blue/grey. To me it looks kinda pale blue.

I think your right

I think it is kind of a pale blue color. It's very nice compared to the Generation 3's plain white color. That in my personal opinion was very boring and unattractive to look at.

Hello all.

If you care to know the 'official' colors for the G4; they are called Stone Gray, sprinkled with Periwinkle.

This concludes art class for today, discussion: colors.

Cheers & hagn/d all,

Bill

I think i might get another one

After my VCR chewed on my G5 tape i thought i was never going to get another one. Well i think that just might happen. I'd also like the G4 tape to.

Pulling a Kirby in Hose mode

Don't forget, theTech Drive must be in neutral when the hose is in use. The forward/backward shift lever is in the handle socket, and therefor not activated when pulling on the hose. It can ruin a transmission.

Tech Drive

Also remember to put Tech Drive in neutral when cleaning any hard surface floor. It will leave skid marks and wear out the rear wheels if left in drive.
