According to several people and information i've heard that Kirby offered a shake out bag on the Heritage II and Legend II machines and still called it the sani em tor. Was this a rare find or did people not really get turned on to it? I'm also currious as to rather or not I can order one from Kirby. Much help would be appreciated.

Hi, Yes Kirby did do a shake out bag and sani emp-tor for the Kirby Heritage II and Legend II which was a optional. Not many was sold as most people just kept the original bag and mini emp-tor that came with the kirby when it was new.

I'm not sure if kirby still do the shake out bag and sani-emptor for the Heritage II and Legend II.
My guess is probably not with it being a optional part.

Best thing to do is contact kirby direct via there website as some service centres might just say no its not available with out checking. That's happened to me in the past.

Hope that's been of some help to you.

I'll check

I'll check to see if i'm able to find one of these. When i had my Heritage II I just kept the bag and mini em tor that came with it.

With the Heritage II-Legend

I don't think they would support a standard Emtor because of the back wheels. One would have to get a different axil for them (such as was used in the Tradition/Heritage) before an Emtor would fit. On another note, I did sell a few Traditions and Heritages with the shake out bag option for commercial customers.

For customers

Was the shake out bag offerd as an option for customers or just commercial use?

Here are a couple of pages I am posting from the Kirby Heritage II Use & Care Guide. It talks about both the disposable bag and permanent bags that were offered.

Jayson & 1 & 2HD Sani-EmTor...

Hello Jayson.

They (Sani style) were available for anyone as an option, if they wanted to purchase or swap out.

Any Kirby Sani-EmTor that you would find, especially 'new,' would have to be NOS (new, old stock), as they have not been available from Kirby for many years.

In fact, the only EmTor available from Kirby anymore, for models prior to the G-Series, is the Lexan Mini-EmTor. Last time I attempted ordering any aluminum ones, I was told this. (The exception to this may be, if they have some 'stashed' for factory rebuilds.

As for the pocket bag, the ONLY Heritage design left, is the Orange-Red, Heritage I style. In paper bag design, it would be the Orange-Red & the Grey style.

James is correct, there were not a lot of them, that we sold, when they were still available. The same was true of the smaller pre-1970 size nozzles.

Joe is also correct, you would need the shorter axle to accommodate the Sani-EmTor assy.

Feel free to contact me directly. anytime Jayson.

Cheers & hagd all,

Bill

Turbo brush

Not to get off topic,
Is the Turbo Brush the precusor to the Zip Brush? Does anyone have a picture they could upload?

Jayson,

These photos are not of mine, they were from an eBay auction. They happen to be what I have at my quick disposal right now.

Cheers & hagd/n all,

I have the turbo brush and first zip brush. I have to say the turbo brush is better in my opinion. Its a tough little unit!

The zip brush is nice, but kinda big and clunky.

Still alive

Anyone know if Jim Salk and Gene Windfeldt are still alive?
