And ive decided i would use this vacuum on the carpets. Its been my current dailey use vacuum and is very powerful. Its a green 1996 Panasonic Performance Plus. I have all the attachments and even the original owners manual! Even though this vacuum has a hose, ill probably use the ol' Lewyt 44 (or at least i think its a 44) for the dusting. Ill post pics of it as soon as i dig it out of the black hole known as my basement. :P

Does the brush roll on this Panasonic shut off when you are using it in "tool mode"?

That would make it ideal.

I think you can still get one of those long extension hoses that plugs into the port in the back to make above-floor cleaning very easy with this vac......

I have the red version of this vacuum. I want to say it's a 1989, but I could be wrong. I do know for sure that it is from the 80's though. It is the exact same thing, except it isn't a Performance Plus model, and mine has a dirt sensor. I can't tell if that one does or not. But those are great vacuums!

@ EurekaPrince(Brian) and @vacman117 (Chase)

Mine is a '96. Love it. Strangely enough, even though its not as old, it doesnt have a dirt sensor. I looked at the receipt, and lets just say, it wasnt cheap. $400!

And no, the brushroll does not shut off in tool mode.
