I believe Royal changed their fan case housings from being rounded to being more squared (look to the right of the Adjust-O-Rite opening) around 1984 or 1985. Even the longstanding models such as the 153, 801, 880, 608 and 611 got the new squared-off fan case housing.

I know the latest model year so far to have the old-style fan case housing was 1983, as I'd earlier brought up a Royal 611 with the serial of #K83-F-41761 (for October 1983).

Can any other Royal fanatics confirm me on any of this and other production changes?
