Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and would like to know what would be the best attachment set for my central vacuum (Beam 1500C). I've been looking at the Electrolux attachment set to replace my discontinued Hoover Powermatic. As most of you know the Quadraflex has now been discontinued, a shame, and I didn't want to purchase the Windtunnel just because it seems cheaply made. There are so many power nozzles to choose from, it probably just comes down to a matter of taste/preference. There is Wessel-Werk, Centec, Beam, Electrolux(Aerus), Eureka, Sebo, Lindhaus, and Hoover. I would love to hear some of your opinions.

While I like the Electrolux sets, I dislike how "clunky" the plastic wands are, I am also not a huge fan of the way everything attaches to the hose handle, wands, etc...

I think the Wessel-Werk powerhead is one of the best powerheads on the market today. My mom had this same powerteam on her Beam, when she had it installed maybe 4 or 5 years ago. She has since sold the house... but I loved this powerhead. The lightweight crushproof hose is also a dream to work with.

Good luck, welcome to the forum!

Fred

well are you planning on replacing everything like the hose because I dont think that electrolux attachments will fit any hose like iam aslmost 100% sure they wont fit your beam unless u replace the hose as well because I know on my electrolux central vac the attahments dont fit any other vacuum.

Yes I'm planning on replacing the hose and everything. I don't know whether to get a set that uses universal parts or buy something that fits a particular brand. Universal seems like the better way to go, but I would like a set that will give me years of dependable use.
And thanks vac_whisperer, I'm glad to be here.

I have always owned electolux(Aerus) which is why even though I looked at a few other central vacs when we decided to install one in our home, I went with the aerus..You can't beat the tools, expeically the flip floor tool and the dust/upolstry tool...We really are happy with our centralux set up. The wire reinforced hose is kink proof and works great..

I have a VacuFlo system in my house but when I installed it I used direct connect inlets as I needed an electric power nozzle. I have the plastiflex direct connect hose, and I enjoy the freedom to pick and choose whatever tools or power nozzle I like. Electrolux is one of my all time favorite vacuums, but as much as I love them, their power nozzle just cant compete with a Wessel-Werk nozzle. The newest Wessel-Werk PN now has an LED head light and user selectable height adjustment, just like the TOL Miele power nozzles. As for the Lux bare floor tool, its a great tool thats been around for probably close to 50 years, and the flip feature with the Gleaner Bar makes it great for small area rugs or bathroom mats. However, the Lux bare floor nozzle fits any standard size wand, and does not need to be used with an Electrolux wand. Just another example of how you can mix and match your favorite tools to your central vac, while not being restricted to using the proprietary sized tools of the manufacturer. My vote is for a universal hose so that you can pick and choose the best tools that work for you in your own home, that is by far my favorite feature of my central vac and allows me to really utilize all the cleaning power my unit has to offer.

The adapter that comes with the aerus tool kit that works with the duster/upolstry tool, will work with any standsard vacuum tools..I purchsaed the fan cleaning tool for the Md website and it fits perfect on the electrolux adapter..

I'm somewhat limited on assistance w/ other brands; however, with KIRBYs, if you decide to add any to your arsenal, I'm here to assist, & feel free to contact me directly at the office by phone [or, thru my email in my profile]. These are many times, much quicker than thru the forum with me.

And again, welcome.

Cheers & hagd all,
