Saw this on eBay tonight. How was Sweden's Electrolux able to sell this 110volt canister in North America using the Electrolux name? It's from well before they bought back the rights to use the name in North America, and I've only seen this branded with the name Dometic here. Any ideas? Would Electrolux UK have made them for British people working at the embassy in Washington? Or was there any use for a 110Volt version in the UK itself?
Curious Canadian here would love to know the background to such a vac.... :-) CLICK HERE TO GO TO eurekaprince's LINK on eBay |

that it was made for 110V. I doubt that it was designed for "site" usage as it is just not that sort of the machine, unlike the Henry which has been discussed in another thread. Seems in quite good condition too. The 345 was a very popular machine and was the longest lasting of their TOL models although thruth to tell there is not much difference between it and the preceeding 330 model except for colour. The floor tool shown is most definatly NOT the original, which was dark brown to match the cleaner. The hose is original though and seems that it is in good condition. $100 inc free shipping seems like a very good price for what must be a very rare, if not unique, cleaner in the US.
I do not have the exact dates of this cleaner with me right now but I would guess 1974 to around 1980 Al |
