Hey guys.... someone in my area is selling a Sanyo Transformax for 35 dollars NIB.... it's model number SC 180.... I've always kind of liked them, but before contacting the seller, I want to make sure this is the model with the power nozzle and not the straight suction only one.... I don't like straight suction only vacuums! Does anyone know?

By the way, I haven't seen them discussed here... what do you all think about the Sanyo Transformax vacuums? Are bags still readily available (probably online only as I think these were from the late 90s or early 2000s?) How loud are they?

Thanks!

SC 180...

Yes, the SC 180 does in fact have the turbohead. This is powered by suction only.

Unfortunately, I have never used this particular model, but I have used the straight suction version. It is powerful for the size, but is also quiet. However, knowing Sanyo's turboheads, I do not think it will work that great on carpeting. They always seemed weak to me when compared to Wessel Werk designs.

FYI, Sanyo no longer manufactures vacuums. Parts availability for the machine will be quite limited. But you should not have any issues finding bags as they are being made by EnviroCare.

I'd heard that Sanyo didn't make vacuums anymore, but the bags are available on Ebay I found out.

Did they not have a version with an electric power nozzle? Maybe I just assumed they did but it was a turbo nozzle.... I hate turbo nozzles but with my flat carpeting, it would probably work fine!
