Yes, it looks like a U4147!
I have one example, though not in especially good nick. This one appears to have the original bag..and yes, they were made in the USA. There are a few 240 volt versions of them scattered around the UK, not especially rare but a lot less common than the Hoover Senior Ranger models eg U4002/U4014 and 652 series.
The chassis are all plastic, unlike some of the earlier metal-bodied Seniors/Convertibles. Stephen | ||

go get it! So rare, the Ranger models with that plexi carpet height indicator... (at least here in Europe) Got a Ranger myself (mustard colour, top fill bag), love it to pieces. But with that 1234-window thingy you will even be happier. | ||
