Hi,

I would like to be able to compile a database of every Royal all-metal upright, canister and handheld vacuum made from its 1905 founding through 2002 (Dirt Devil not included, please), and that I would like to consult all of you experts here for some help on this matter.

I was inspired by the list of Hoover mfg. dates submitted by Mark Berger at his website (link available), if you want to know why I am bringing this up.

To start things off, here is what I know so far (until 1970, such models are not easy to date):
(HDC = Heavy Duty Commercial series)
(EH = Electro-Hygiene exclusive series)

With the Power Tanks, such knowledge becomes less detailed because there was a slew of these after 1987, when medium blue was not the color of choice, making way for such colors as dark blue (4250) and then burgundy (4650, 4750). Some of these also came in Commercial Gray (like model 4150).
