I just bought a used FQ Majestic on Ebay. It looks like a pretty good deal for 179$ with tax and shipping. The seller said it was approximately a 1995 model, I otherwise have no clue to it's actual age other than that, and it doesn't look too old. It has the metal power head, I'm not sure when they stopped that on FQ's. I'm REALLY REALLY excited about getting a Filter Queen, I hope this one is a good one.

(btw don't tell Santa I know that I'm getting this for Christmas)

Hey Jonathan,

That Filter Queen is the first Majestic that came out and it is from 1988 and 1990, and that Power Head is not original too that machine and it is not metal,it it plastic dipped in chrome...that IS however a truly GREAT machine and you are going to love it!!

What machine would that powerhead be from then? and what would the original be? (hopefully it's not too much of a frankenvacuum)

from the next one up, the red majestic i think. think of it as an upgrade, really same inside, just a different outer case

Joe

I went and found some pictures of the red Majestic with the powernozzle that this one has. Should be a pretty good first FQ, already have another machine coming so I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a 2nd vac.
My grandma had a FQ in the 70s before she got her Kirby, I wish I would have realized what it was at the time and snatched it before her house flooded.

The Queen is here! They delivered it today, not sure if I'll be "allowed" to open it now though.

well technically yes but.....if me and that box have some time alone together, I definitely will check it out sooner.

Got the Queen out the box and put together today. Come to find out it didn't come with the correct wand, instead of the original one it's the one that matches the mismatching powerhead....no wonder why it was hard to maneuver the powernozzle around. Thinking about what I should do to solve that issue.

Go to the Henry Company on North Kennedy Avenue and they'll give you the right wand for a cheap price

Actually, I contacted the seller back on Saturday and let them know of my dissatisfaction and they responded promptly and said they would look on Monday for the correct wand. Today I got an email stating they sent it out today. So they seem to be very on top of things, and hopefully it should get here tomorrow or Wednesday (seller is only 200 miles away)

Once I get the correct wand I'll be posting pictures of my new Queen promptly!
