My guess is that she's thinking about how her feet hurt and wondering why she is expected to do the housework in those stiletto's.

I'll bet she was thinking....

"It's 1967 and I'm vacuuming my rugs with a brand new vacuum cleaner that looks as though it's 20 years old!" lol

I think she prefers Martini's or Manhattans. Very 60s cocktails.

I have the vac. but no attachments. Maybe they can get together some day !! It seems a set of the green attachments do not show up on ebay very often.

Tan, not green

I meant to say 'tan' attachments, not green. The D80 was green. I guess because the manual had green on the cover I was thinking of the D80.

As I recall, Kirby called that odd tan color 'Cirroco'(can't remember how they spelled it). The D50 is my favorite Kirby. I have two.

Apparently you guys don't recognize THE Gloria Steinem in the above photo. The above photo was taken just after she lost her gig as a Playboy Bunny out in California. To make ends meet, she moved back to Ohio and got this job as a Kirby product model. It was during her stint at Kirby that she experienced her political awakening and decided to throw off the shackles of women's oppression -- girdles, under wire bras, stiletto heels, vacuuming, and of course, bunny ears . In the photo above, she's plotting her strategy for establishing the Women's Liberation Movement while she vacuums with the Dual Sanitronic 50. (Now you know the rest of the story! LOL!)

D50 on eBay

djtaylor's profile picture
I was wondering if any of you have seen the D50 on eBay? The auction ends in just less than 24 hours and nobody has bid on it yet. I wanted to let those of you who like the D50 to know it's out there... and if you don't bid on it, I will.
Just giving you all a sporting chance at it.
Justin

Kirbys on eBay

Are you referring to the the one for $10.00? I'm thinking about it, but I haven't made up my mind yet. Also considering the 517 for $19.99.

Nice job on that... I like the classic-style handle and the brown trim... Make it look really cool.

"I should have worn ankle straps with open toes then run with this damn Kirby! Do I have anything to match in Avacado green? And, G__ dammit, I'm out of Pall Malls! Why doesn't Harvey hire a maid anyway? I'm supposed to be happy about running this just because some idiot talked him into buying it on, 'Kirby Credit'?

ohhh maybe she had a second thought?

I think she had a second thought.."OM effing god!! It is time for my husband to ditch this bloody heavy Kirby, rip out these dirty carpets and replace them with some beautiful hardwood floors"....hmmm..and now I am going to pour myself a double manhatan, kick up my high heels, and watch the Dick Van Dike show!!!

but the pictures look real but the vacuums themself look like they are "drawn" in. I dunno....

And she's probably thinking I bet my Cristian Louibiton's feel so much better than my Jimmy Choo's!

"drawn in"

Well, I think they did take a picture of the vac, but then someone accentuated the image with a pencil & paints to make the Kirby stand out, at least that's how I think it works... :)

I would love to get a new floor brush. i no they are not made any longer so for now i just lub- the bearings it works for a while. A shane it is a very nice running machine. My Oreck

djtaylor's profile picture
Doug, I put that Oreck together when I worked for the local Oreck franchise. It's the base and handle grip of a 9200, the motor, fan housing and tubes from various 'donner' models and the bag from a 3700. I like it. It's mostly for 'quick pick-ups' or for when my aging joints don't want to move a 'Kir-beast'. I am hoping to get a factory refurbished XL Legend(in red,not black). It's easy to use and you can get under low furniture. In my home the cat likes to hide under my night stands, so I have to vacuum under them often.
