Perhaps as suggested by Seamus as being one that had an export bag box cover applied instead of a regular "By Appointment" one.

Or perhaps it was an Electricity board exclusive model that escaped the Carmargue Grey Treatment?
Most Leccy Board Turbo models had the Activator logo on them.
And the Leccy board only got the Basic Total system in Carmargue grey. Perhaps this was a TOL EBS?

Or even it is a foreign one that got back into the UK or fell off the back of a lorry at some point in its trip to wherever although I cannot see why it would have the English sales sticker on it. We removed the sticker for cleaning and can confirm it was not applied later (who would go to that trouble anyway) as the plastic has faded under it - a sign its been there for years.

How odd!
I've never seen a Hoover from this era that doesn't have the royal warrant on it. Imagine Hyacinth's shock and disgust if she had purchase one and got it home to find it did NOT feature the royal warrant? DISGUSTING!

Just noticed your Lux Powersystem there as well, Rob. I had one of those for a while, but got rid. I thought it was possibly one of the worst vacuums I've ever used lol. How are you finding it?

electrolux?

Chris, Perhaps you had a dud? Knackered Brushroll? Abused? I love mine, cleans very well and grooms beautifully. Been using it regularly since Paul bought it for my birthday this year.
Not to mention its quiet!

Have the bagless conversion box but I dont use that funnily enough, not for performance reasons. Just the usual emptying issues everyone finds with all bagless cleaners.

Flash photography does nasty things....

...so here are some shots of the U5096, without the extra light playing tricks.

The autoflex needs repairing - oh what fun...

Electrolux Powersystem with cyclone cassette

I had one, worked fine with a bag, but was useless with the cyclone cassette: the dust passed through both chambers and clogged the square felt filter that was on the backside of the cassette. Filthy thing, but the bags worked fine.

Do you have the same problem with the Turbopowers that we have here with the Innovations with the handle release breaking?

No

There is no way it could really brake, it isn't weak.

Absolutely beautiful, Rob, thanks for sharing. Have you got the Turbomaster with the soft bag too?

If my memory is right

the graphics on the cleaner which has the "brushed edge cleaning" comments on the motor hood are all consistent with a redesigned style of Turbomaster from about 1991, where the graphics on the headlamp also changed (as you will see it says Turbo master and not carpet selection, and the icons were different too). The cleaners had the brush roller with the green bristles on the outer edge, and the three-piece tool kit was the later style with grooves around the neck of the accessory.

The Royal warrant, or more so the absence of such, is a different matter. Cleaners which were not made for the UK home market often did not have the Royal warrant stamped onto them. The options for this cleaner are likely to be that it was not made for the home market, or has had a replacement bag door (it is not unknown for them to break), or it was the last of a production run when stocks of an existing bag door was used, though of course this is not consistent with the date on the rating plate.

Seeing how it still has a sales sticker, it must be the original door. Written in English. I wonder if it was built for an English-speaking none UK destination? Of course it is also quite possible that the wrong door was fitted at the factory, if I know Hoover.
