This is a Canadian Kenmore that I've never seen. The power nozzle is what I find cool.

I know we have that same design in the US, but the power nozzle looks as if it is from a 90's Kenmore Canister!

Yup that is a BOL power-mate. We havn't had those here in the US sence about 1999-2001? But they have been available in CA, I wonder why? The thing about those PM's is that the belt is flat, and also in the dirt path, But they do work quite well. Sometimes when the belt breaks it gets sucked up and/or stuck in the neck of the PN.

I was at Sears Canada this afternoon and here they are all lined up like Smarties (M&M's to you foreigners).

Love those colors.

I wish we had all those colors. Our BOL would be the orange (179.99) followed by the blue (199.99)Reg price, 20 bucks less on sale. I would love to get the red straight suction model. I don't know why Sears.com/ca will not ship to the US. You can't even phone order from them. The only Kenmore Straight suction available here is the Magic Blue IIRC and the bags are so small Id fill it in one or two uses.

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that Panasonic no longer makes Kenmore vacuums. Production has now switched to TTI. Just something to think about.

Bill,

You are correct in that Sears signed a contract with TTI to produce some Kenmore vacs - mostly the cheaper ones like the one that started this thread. But Panasonic still makes the higher quality Kenmore vacs. The Progressive/Elegance bagged power nozzle canisters are Panasonics, and any of the uprights that have the beltless Direct-Drive revolving brush are definitely Panasonics because they have a patent on the brush roll design.

The attachments being sold with the Canadian Kenmore central vacs at our Canadian stores are definitely cheap "Made in China" TTI tools. What looks like a horse-hair dusting brush turns out to have really brittle harsh bristles. Don't know what kind of horse gave them those hairs!!!! LOL!!! They seem to be more like from goats!!!!

I took a close look at those low end canisters with the wimpy dusting brush on-board and the whole vac felt like a cheap TTI Dirt Devil. I'd say stay away from them.....

there is a 90's canister l like it was one of the cheaper models tho it had the tools at the back of the vacuum where the power switch was and it featured a power nozzle similar to that except it had a headlight, and the tools only avaible with it were the cervice tool, dusting brush and the fabric brush to use on furniture and of course the power nozzle.

yup

stya away from the low end kenmores... I had the sears contract for vac repairs and those vacs were constanlty in the shop for all sorts of electrical connection problems.Usually well within the first 10 months of purchse.
