I wasn't sure where to post this, but here goes:
In my house I have a central vac. system with an air driven power nozzle. The suction of the air turns the brushroll, so there is no motor or belt in the housing. I think it works pretty well, it is very light, not to bulky, and easy to maneuver. So I was curious if anybody knows of a canister or other type of vac. that offered an air driven power nozzle. The air driven nozzle was an option I had purchased since it was cheaper than the motor driven nozzle, and since there are only area rugs in my house and no wall-to-wall carpet I felt it would be adequate. It probably does not deep clean as well as a motor driven power nozzle, but it does the job. BTW- I bought this central vac. system before I started collecting vacuums !!!

Hi there,
I know that some Compact Electras have an air driven brush. One came with mine. It's a Compact C6. I believe most later Compacts had at least an air driven brush along with a motorized brushroll. I also think that possibly some Miele canisters might come with some air driven brushes today as well.
I really like my air driven brush, it seems to do just as well as a motorized one.
Hope this helps,

Alex

thats the same turbo head...

as my dyson dc05 absolute+turbo (but mine is purple and green ;D ). it does have a cogged belt powered by the turbine. many newer dyson canister have a much better turbine nozzel, and many cheap canister such as dirt devils come with one similar to the one pictured

dyson canisters offer (depending on the model) turbo or turbine pn (motorhead / turbinehead as dyson calls them)

An air driven power nozzle also comes with the new Hoover Constellations. I also remember my aunt purchasing a Rainbow D that came with one as an option.
