I recently got one of these and even though it is a cheap, plastic vacuum it cleans very well. I know pretty much everybody on here hates plasti-vacs (especially dirt devils) I think it is a pretty decent vacuum.I used some carpet fresh the other day and picked it up with my hoover windtunnel self propelled and the next day vacuumed with this and picked up about half a cup of carpet fresh. now im not saying it is better than a hoover but just saying it picked up left over carpet fresh. I think it is the most powerful DIRT DEVIL I have ever used. although I do have some complaints about it- the floor suction is phenomenal, but that makes it hard to push, and when you connect the attachment hose the suction drops dramatically, making the tool suction average. mine has the swivel wheels and manual height adjustment and is a bright blue color. the date is march 2006. I have to say the swivel wheels actually make it harder to push. like all dirt devils it is REALLY loud- like as loud as a dirt devil featherlite! Does anybody else have one of these and what are your thoughts on it? I like it but I will probably use it for a while and sell it.

I don't have that machine but have a BOL Eureka Maxima bagless monstrosity for doing the crap work on the patio and stuff, it's practically the same thing as far as filtration and dirt capture design. Only reason I have the thing was because I got it for peanuts at work one day.

For the price they do an ok job and seem to hold up to abuse. Heres the thing though, with having a pleated filter in the dirt container allowing dirt to cling right on, the vacuum ends up choking for air. The airflow fizzles down to barely anything after you start cleaning. Happens even quicker when vacuuming anything with fine dust. If you clean the filter constantly, it will continue to clean but it becomes a joke after doing it a few times. I got tired of spending 5 minutes blowing the thing off for a minute of actual vacuuming. I ended up buying a BOL bagged Bissell (for the price of about half a tank of gas in my truck) to take over the random tasks. That actually is an impressive little thing, cheap and flimsy but suction lasts if you use the better genuine bags.

Honestly the only bagless vacuums that I personally respect are Dysons. Yeah now days some of other brands are using "dual" or "root" cyclone setups too, but are simply gobbling up the technology that Dyson started and they're still far from perfect IMO. Dyson spent all of the years developing and perfecting those filtration systems and is the company that rightfully earns the respect of it.
