Does anyone have any thoughts on this poor mismatched Hoover Convertible model 68 I saw on ebay?

mixed up 68

What a shame that some service person totally messed up a great
Hoover convertable. The bag is a Eurkea for an F&G paper bag,
which they may have done trying to sell the customer on top fill bag. Then every thing is mis-matched. The blue
handle grip, the bumper is different, the hood may have been replaced.

I bet it runs great...Buffalo Joe and I have this theory:

If it looks TERRIBLE then it runs great,
But if it looks pristine and mint then it must run horribly.

I have no evidence to support this other than my own experiences which have proven it true. We think it goes for all brands of vacuums too!

Tom's theory

We had a Guardsman when I was growing up and it was in pretty good shape, but had terrible suction. While my Grandmother's same model Guardsman had a missing headlight, broken handgrip, broken switch cover and loose plug that was missing the ground prong had good suction and picked up tons of dirt!

You have to say how in the world could someone make a perfectly good convertible look like something that came up from the underworld ?
