Remember Charlie W. wanting to thin his herd... well mine just got larger as a result. Charlie, Thank You so much for posting your treasures here on the forum. These vacuum just made my collection more wonderful. As always your vacuums are in mint condition. Here are pictures of both vacuums I was able to purchase from Charlie

Electrolux 1205

Set up for daily driver use. I purchased a new vinyl hose and replace the wands with newer quick connect features making this a perfect vacuum for a daily use. Also notice the power-mate junior, this is a must for those of us with pets. Just imagine, this vacuum is how old and still works as well as any of the new vacuums on the market. I could also use a new Lux powerhead to improve performance.

Wow Morgan! You have some very nice additions to your collection there. I have to say that I really like both machines. I do not have one of those TOL Eurekas. I like the sound of them. I am guessing that yours is from the early 70's? I have always wanted a 1205 but have not seen one as nice as yours. These machines are very quiet and they look great. The best part is you did not have to go to St. Louis and climb a "mountain" of vacuums to get them.(if indeed there IS one!!) (sorry that was the beans and beer talking) Charlie is very generous and those machines are in good hands. Thanks for sharing the photos. It is so nice to be surrounded by thoughtful caring individuals.

Those machines are beautiful! It is nice to have this place to announce machines that are available and I am sure that Charlie gave you a great deal. I agree with Tom that it is nice not to have to claw through a pile of filthy dirt-belchers to expand the collection but talk back and forth here. Congratulations.

Fred

Great vacs, Morgan! I have a 1205 in the to-do section, yours is beautiful... Did you just get the Sidekick or is that new to you too? I found a Diamond Jubilee at a sale a few weeks ago and have been using it as a (weekly) driver. It came with a Sidekick still in it's original packing, it works great and I especially like that you don't lose any suction as with a turbine-driven brush.

Congrats on all the new vacs - that Eureka is one of my faves too!

Morgan those machines are just beautiful. I used both of them when I visited Charlie last month. I know that they will have a good home with you.

Congrats Morgan!

That 1205 is a beauty, and that Eureka started its life as a collectable vacuum with me, it was originally in my collection.
Both are beauties!

Lovely. Those Sidekicks are super on upholstery covered in pet hair, especially in a car or truck with cloth seats where static always seems to be a problem.

Thanks for filling me in on the fact that you were the orginal owner of the Eureka. That just makes it even more special. I beleive Charlie did mention that before he sold the machine and I had forgotten.

The ownership of machines in my collection are what make some them special to me. I have several vacuums that I remember using as a child or belonged to someone close to me in my childhood. They may not be the orginal vacuum, but the same model.

1205

Morgan,
What a beautiful 1205. That brought back memories of my first day of selling Electrolux during college. They were introducing the 1205 the very week I started training. Mike Hayes was kind enough to give me a perfect example with the original box. When I first started selling the machines they had the cord on the outside of the hose and I was selling the end lots of the brown model G. Back in those days people really knew what an Electrolux was when you came to the door and I was surprised how easy it was to sell the 1205. Sold many machines without the power nozzle but they pushed us to demo with the power nozzle and NEVER show the model L or brown G unless the customer bulked over the price of the 1205. Several times when I did sell a modelL the customer called back the next day and exchanged it for the 1205.

How interesting... did they not both have the same motor?

Eureka

Morgan that Eureka was rescued from the Salvation Army store in York Nebraska, sometime early in 1998. The cord was fried, so I had it replaced by a vac shop in Lincoln, hence the sticker on the handle.
That was one of Eureka's classiest cleaners!
