I picked up this old GE canister at a thrift store today. I don't really have the room but I couldn't resist since it seemed well made and it's so shiny! The hose is in great shape, and it has some of the attachments, too. The box is in fair shape considering its age, and it has the manual inside. The cord is okay, but it's starting to crack so it will be replaced if I restore it. The vacuum itself is in pretty good shape. There are a few shallow dents but no scratches. The front dome is a little beat up. The bag and filter are in good shape. The motor runs, but the bearings are worn and suction is low. The bearings look like a standard size so I may rebuild the motor.

I don't know a lot about GE vacuums, but this one has to be at least 60 years old judging by the way the motor was built. It could be even older. Can someone tell me a little more about this vacuum?

If someone really wants it, make an offer. I kind of like it but if someone really needs this for their collection, let me know.

WOW!

You would have been crazy to pass that up!

If nobody else wants it, I would like to talk to you about it.

Alex
