I just noticed

that you live in North Carolina. I lived there many years ago. I lived in Durham, Kenansville, and Fayetteville. Wow! It's twenty years since I lived there.

I was born in Durham, at Watts General Hospital, in 1956. My parents lived in Butner at the time. We moved from there to Hampton, Virginia when I was about a year old.

They closed the Watts Hospital when Durham General Hospital opened. Watts is now the North Carolina School for Science and Math. It's basically a school for really smart high school kids. (Or at least it was 20 years ago!)

Scott, both of your parents were in the the military? An admirable career choice. Hats off to them. Tell me something though, since you were born into a military family, does this make you a real life army brat? No offense intended, but I heard that term on television, researched it, and it is just such a coincidence that I right after that I find out that you were born on a military base!

By the way, just as a slight side note, in regards to your Miele thread, the S7 is a wonderful vacuum cleaner and I think you would enjoy using it. However, I do not agree with your statement that the Rainbow is the best. It is a good machine, but others surpass it. Not trying to step on your toes here, but fact is fact.

again

we all have opinions with what the best vacs are and in my eyes rainbow will never be surpased by anything no matter what data says about them. anyways both my parents were in the army for 22 years, my dad joined 2 years befor my mom and retired in 97 and my mom retired in 99 so I gues I am an army brat. Also a funny little story is that I have three parachute jumps because my mom didnt know she was pregnant.

ops i forgot

I just said I liked the filtration better and that is based mostly when it comes to odors because at the vac shop near us who we have been friends with sinse we moved to georgetown TX back in mid 99 I volenteer on saturdays, I notice that when the mieles have the cereal that we demo with in them the exhaust smells like the fruity cerial but that doesnt happen to my rainbows. and yes i have sold vacs there befor

And a decent price, too. Is it one of those old fashioned hardware stores where if they don't have it, you don't need it? Used to be lots of hardware stores had things you'd never expect to find there.
