On eBay there is a 1977 Royal 501. The bag on it is obviously not original, but it does look rare. Can anyone take a wild guess about the graphic on the bag seen here?

The original bag for the 501 after about 1972 and before 1978 was a simple light blue bag with the Royal crown logo and name embroidered in red. From 1978 until the end of Prince production in the '90s the bag was a blue version of the original Dirt Devil bag.

Thank you for that picture. But I've yet to see an actual fully-assembled Royal upright wearing this.

Ben, that is a bojack bag from a vac supply house. I have one of the older red and black upright bags with the same identical logo on it.

Some bojack bags said "To Fit" (e.g., "To Fit Royal") and some did not. And sometimes the "To Fit" was very tiny and placed in an inconspicuous spot. I don't remember if my bag has "To Fit" on it, and it's packed in storage so I can't go look.
