Hi everyone, I just picked a really nice green lux 89 with the original hose ( sadly all suction is lost but hose still looks nice) I don't know anything about these Canadian Luxes so any info would be great. My 89 didn't come with the pn so if anyone has one and a good hose for sale I would love to buy it. Would the pn for that be called the pn 3? I have herd that it was? I would also love to fine the red one with the red and white pn 1. I have never seen one of these luxes in person before until now and have fallen in love with them. If anyone has pictures of theirs, please share and I will get some good pic of mine this weekend.

I have an 89 with all the original equipment including power nozzle and trigger nozzle hose. I have pics but on my home computer so I will post later. My hose leaks also so I bought a replacement lux vinyl hose on Ebay, removed the machine end and added the end from a spare 89 hose that I had. What a difference! The suction is incredible now. Hi Phillip; The 89 had several different incarnations over its lifetime (1968-1973) The earlier ones had chrome end trim and handle trim and were designated the ZB89. Later machines saw the handle trim changed to green then all the trim changed to green. Both were designated the 89E (to my knowledge the E stood for Electric as they came with the electric hose). Over the run there were three different power nozzles - the PNII (lime with dark green bumpers) which was basically a PNI, the PNIII (lime with dark green bumpers) which featured a unique roller brush that had the bearings intregrated into the end. And lastly the PNIV (dark green with lime bumpers) which went back to the bushing style brush. The early machines with the PN II either had just a hose cord or a hose cord that connected to a trigger style handgrip. Very late ones even had the option of a power hose which was a very dark green with a gold tracer and a dark green handgrip. The ZB89's also came with a cardboard tool caddy and rug nozzle while the 89E came with a plastic tool caddy and a dual action nozzle (that didnt work very well). This was also the model that saw the introduction of the shag rake. I'd send you to my web page to see the machines but for some reaon I have been getting a message that its exceeded its bandwidth since early this month. Guess I'll have to find a different host when I have time. Doug |
