Some of you know the story of the very first commercial vacuums I ever saw and used back when I was in elementary school. When I was in 5th grade, the cleaning staff enlisted me to help them vacuum, and this was the machine I used every day for 4 years. When my school merged with another, I was told that these machines were all thrown away in favor of newer "better" machines.

I guess I should tell you what the machine is huh.

Well, its nothing more than a rebadged Sanitaire. It was sold under the name Euroclean, because of Kent-Euroclean, which is still one of the industry leaders in the production of commercial floor care.

Now, you may be wondering, "Did he find a replica?"

Nope. Even better. I found the ACTUAL machine I used!

It ended up being buried in the back of a janitor closet that nobody used anymore. When I was in there looking for carpet shampoo, I saw what looked like a Sanitaire handle. I couldn't remember ever putting one in that closet, so I dragged it out into the light, and I almost dropped dead when I saw what it actually was! Unfortunately, the bottom plate, wheel axles, brushroll, etc were completely rusted out, and the motor was seized. After an hour of careful cleaning and repair, she runs as well as I remember. I'll take pictures tomorrow when I go into work. I would much rather use it than the plastic garbage the school owns. In the mean time, see the link below for a few stock images I found last year when I was still looking for one.

Well, as I said. My old school was merged with another, and this cleaner was shoved into an old closet and forgotten about. The cleaners the husband and wife who clean the place use are piece of shit walmart specials aka bissells and a dirt devil. I was hired to shampoo the rugs and was told to bring a high quality vacuum cleaner, so I grabbed a regular Sanitaire, and I filled the bag 5 times. As stated above, I was digging around in an old closet for another jug of carpet shampoo, and discovered one of my old machines from my original job with that school.

And just a side note, in your initial post, its spelled 'congratulations'.

What are the chances that the actual vacuum would still be there? That is so great! Enjoy your wonderful find. I bet it will clean up great.

Its been cleaned. Hahaha. I refuse to remove that paint from the base. It was always like that when I used it daily, so I don't want to change the memory. But it is truly amazing that nobody knew it was down there for 5 years. Thanks for your kind words!
