I am guessing (apparently) the band has been repainted and the Green Logo surgically removed. Still, perhaps a nice original machine to restore. These were kind of a stand-alone model in so many ways.(paint, plug, 'dirt-finder + positive agitation' in an 'economy priced' full-sized cleaner!)

this was one of the first dirt-finder economy models. $49.50 and your old cleaner as a trade-in.....

And in just a few short years, the economy model (the model 305) would be the most modern looking Hoover cleaner. Wasn't the model 300 the last "coffee can?"

the last

Yes, the last of which I am aware, at least in the US. And it was indeed replaced by the 'modernistic' 305 which had an even longer run (5 years vs 4 for the 300)and carrying the Henry Dreyfuss design of the post-war higher end models 27 and 28. (I love the inscription of 'HOOVER' on the hood! They shoulda kept that!)

Model 300

I have one example of model 300, which I've imported from America. It looks quite clean and works well but doesn't appear to have the original bag.

At some stage I'd like to aquire models 305, 150, 25, 26, 27 & 28..but then I could get carried away, possibly go for a 61 a 91, a 64..

300 Bag

Hi Stephen

The 300 bag is unique to this machine in that it has a rather large green logo on it (about 4 inches) on a dark background/field that matches the unique logo on the top center of the coffee can hood/dome (derby hat!) On the logo, it states:

THE
HOOOVER
IT BEATS
AS IT Sweeps
AS IT Cleans
