I would like to get another Kirby to go with my Legend II, but I don't know what model to get. Any model suggestions?

Thats a difficult question

Do you want another Red Kirby?,A Brown Kirby?,A Blue Kirby?, A Green Kirby?, A Gray Kirby? A Black Kirby?, A Maroon Kirby? Do you want a 500 series, A Classic through Classic three, a Tradition through Heritage,A Heritage 2 through Legend Two or a G series. You already have the best they made IMHO,but it would be hard to decide on one,Just get another one and they will multiply on their own LOL.

The D80 sounds like a good idea. It has a shake out bag, which you don't have. It's also the only green vacuum Kirby has made to date. Some hate it. Others like it. I like it. It's kind of a transitional model too in that it was the last of the 500 series style vacuum before Kirby introduced the Classic series. But the D80 also introduces the beefier handle fork. You might think about a Tradition too. Another transitional model, it is the last in the Classic series and the only one Kirby ever made in blue. With it, Kirby introduced the disposable bag or you can go with the shake out bag. Also, if you like to work on your own vacuums, then you'll find that it's motor, fan set-up, handle spring, and other basic components are pretty much the same as the Legend II. The one bonus with the Tradition is that the safety/speed switch is a much simpler design than the Heritage/Legend series. So it's easier to service.

what about a G series? G3, G4, and G5 are all great. for some reason i have not been too impressed with the G6 or ultimate G models. and yes i know they are mechanically the same.

I have a G5 and a G6 2000 edition that I would sell you if interested.
I want less for the g5 than the g6.

Email me if interested

Many Kirby's for sale

Whatever model you decide on you shouldn't have to pay much, the market is saturated with then.I average two to three a week most for under $20.00 my last G5 cost me the big $15.00.

Fred, I LOVE the color of the 1st one on the left, that is absolutely beautiful! I'm going to get a Dual Sanitronic 80 from Mike. I know they are going to multiply, I started off with one Electrolux and now I have three, LOL. Is the G Series the most current models?

I was at the Kirby dealer getting some bags and they told me that in 2014 it will be the 100th anniversary for Kirby. I asked if there were any new models coming out in the future, she told me none that she was aware of, but they might have an anniversary model in 2014, but she didn't know for certain.

I paid $99.00 plus tax for my LII and it was completely restored, new belt and paper bag included. Best vacuum investment I ever made, except for my $7.00 Electrolux Olympia One that I bought at a flea market.

Thanks for the great advice, I'll probably end up with a room full of Kirby's, which is a good thing right, LOL.
