Recently got a Heritage II with the small nozzle.
Is it just me or does it not clean as well as the Dual Sanitronic 80 It sure seems that is does not have as much power. (not near as loud)

It should clean as well, if not better than a D 80. Make sure the brush roll is a 4 row brush roll,(4 rows clean better than 2, and also makes the Kirby easier to push) make sure there is a new belt installed,or at least one that is not worn down, and make sure that the brush roll is adjusted correctly. The bristles of the brush roll should protrude slightly from the bottom of the rug plate. Also make sure that the rug nozzle itself is adjusted correctly for your carpet by turning on the Kirby with the rug nozzle in the highest position (foot pedal all the way down), then step on the adjustment pedal one click at a time until you hear a change in tone of the Kirby motor.
This indicates the correct setting.
If the Kirby is hard to push at this setting, go back up one.
If the suction is broken when you push and pull the Kirby at this setting go down one notch.
Also make sure the Kirby bag is empty, or at least not jammed up.

It just came from Rebuilt

and have checked most of suggestions.. Do know about the noise change and how to adjust but still does not clean nearly as well as the D 80 and I cannot understand why// Also not nearly as loud.

If the small nozzle versions of these were ever released in Australia? I'd love to get my hands on one - but have never seen one here...

cheers

Noise does't always mean more power or suction, I have a small head Heritage two and just got a dual 80 Friday, as soon as I clean the bag I'll bring it upstairs, One good test would be to put the hose on both and compare suction.

The Legend II that I finished rebuilding is essentially the same vacuum as yours. Though I've never used a D80, I can say that my Legend II has plenty of power and vacuums very well. I wonder if you're noticing the difference between an internal bag system on the Heritage II and the shake out bag on your D80. Would the newer internal bag systems not breathe as freely and therefore give the impression of reduced power? I really don't know.
