Guys

Trying to get this part shipped to the uk, but they want $35 just for postage, very expensive for a filltube which will weigh next to nothing...

www.vacland.com/proddetail.phpQUE...

I rang vacland to see if they will do it for anymore cheaper but they never answer and dont respond to their emails.

I have also tried emailing ebay sellers and the ones who have responded want high ammounts.

its rediculous as people like Kent charges very reasonable shipping prices.

Anyone got any idea?

Hi there

Thanks for the response, the part is $7.99 as stated on their site but postage is $35 to the uk, when you spoke to them do you think that they will reduce postage for me or just thought you were making an enquiry.

What time is best to call considering it is 02:11am in the UK now.

Thanks.

Ive just spoke to Steve at Vacland.com and he was very helpful.

He said he will contact the post office and find a cheaper price for me then I can purchase it.

He has also mentioned that to use the ST bags I would be better off buying the new bag assembly as it just screws onto the bottom and has the fill tube built in already, this has 2 zippers on the bag which due the ST bags being bigger when they are full I will find it harder to get out of the cloth bag when it is full. However the bag assembly is $29 a bit more than $7.99.

What do you think I should do?

Thanks.

Hmm. If shipping is about the same then I myself would probaly just get the whole bag set up.
But if its cheaper and your existing bag is fine id get just the fill tube.

Yeh the fill tube is $7.99, the bag I have currently is fine but he says the ST bags are bigger and fill differently so would struggle on getting the bag out possibly ripping the paper as I remove it when its full (I could remove it when its half full but this wastes bags I guess)

The bag assembly is $29 so is a bit more I imagine there is not much difference is postage.

I would just go for the whole bag assembly, it will be easier for the use of the larger bags, and you will then have a spare outer bag. I'm also assuming shipping will be close to that of just the fill tube

Got an email back from vacland: What a rip off... she even said this was via the post office and is the cheapest postage.

"Good afternoon,
The cost on the bag assembly you inquired about is $49.95. The postage rates are as follows: for 3-5 working days it would be $45. U.S. currency. 6-10 working days to you would be $35.00. Please let us know if you would like to purchase this.
Thank you,
Valerie

US postage......

Hey Richard....

Some sellers are MAJOR con artists- ive been quoted over $15 for a pack of belts before now- 2 packs actually cost less than $4(I know from having a friend send them over).

I also know Jack has paid some stupid prices to have adverts/booklets sent over here :(.

Your best bet is to have a look on the USPS website- that will give you an idea what you SHOULD be paying!

Seamus

Richard,

If you would like, I'd be happy to get the part you need and ship it to you in a flat rate box

Hi Sam

That would be great if you could find out for me postage etc, but I dont know how much they would charge to post to you though?

THey have also said that the complete bag assembly would be $49 so still debating whether to just get the fill tube bit?

Thanks.

Richard for the fill tube they would charge me $10.50 shipping.

Let me know if you want it.

If you decide you want the whole bag I can get free shipping from vacshack.com the bag is $49 there too.

Hope I can help

Richard, I have an ST fill tube that I'll be glad to send you. It's only slightly used. I had it on an older Eureka upright and only used it a few times. I gave the vacuum away but took the new fill tube off before it went out the door. If you want it, I'll just give it to you if you just pay for shipping. I'll find out how much shipping will be and let you know. Send me an email to let me know if you'd like it. And BTW, I didn't notice any problems removing the ST bag from the old outer bag.

The fill tube weighs 8 oz. I have a box that I can mail it in that weighs about 10 oz. I'll wrap it in some bubble wrap, which will add a little weight. If I'm reading the USPS website correctly, it shouldn't cost more than about $15 to mail it First Class. It's yours if you want it. I currently have no plans for it. And I can easily get another if I want. Just let me know.

Thank you guys, both very kind offers and great for you to go out of your way to help me like this :)

Sam - I am just concerned how much shipping will be at the post office once you get the item, as my understanding is that the part is 16" long x 3" in diameter so it wont fit in a flat rate box.

Eurekastar... very kind offer and I have seen your email before the post on here and replied to you directly.

I have also been informed that its a waste of money getting the entire bag assembly and will not damage the bag if I keep the bag as it is.

I also need to get some ST poly bags to fit, can anyone recommend a good supplier on ebay that posts to the uk?

Thank you.

Yes that would be great, I can paypal you the money across, thank you ever so much.

I have responded to your email as well not sure if it has come through though.

I guess you wont know until you take it to the post office exactly but it doesnt seem that expensive as long as within those dimensions on the website.

WHat an absolute nightmare the postal service is.

REcevived the package this morning with a sticker on saying it had been found open/damaged & officialy secured.

THe bags are in the package, all 5 of them but the Filltube is missing, so not sure if its customs or what not that has lost it.

Its rediculous we pay these companies money to look after our mail and get it there safely and they damage it!

Ive messaged bill, hopefully he may be able to sort me another one if I send him some more $$$ for it.

Regards
Richard.
