I got a Kirby G3 at a garage sale today for 20 dollars! It came with all of the attachments, the shampooer, and the carpet fluffer!! It was really dirty and all tangled up with hair, but it runs great and cleans really well after I cleaned it up. The brushroll is in good shape and all of the attachments are like new. The bad things are that the cord is pretty chewed up by the back wheel and the screw that holds the back cover on the handle is broken. also the Techdrive clicks when you put it in neutral when the motor is running or push it across the floor when it is off. does anybody know what could be causing this? I was also wondering what years was the G3 made? THANK YOU!!!

One of my G5's does the same thing with the transmission. It really makes me angry

G3 Transmission clicking!

is because the lever that is connected to the transmission that puts it in and out of gear is worn, Therefore not letting the gears completly seperate when out of gear. This part just needs to be replaced, then it won't make the clicking sound anymore. I just replaced the lever on my G4 and it solved the problem... Dan

If you need a lever, email me- I have several of them and they aren't too expensive to ship.
