Some time ago, Doug Smith posted about some surplus Model 30 rug nozzles he had, and he also mentioned that he had some surplus machines. I asked him if he had any 80 series machines, and he did, but when he showed me these others, I couldn't turn them down.

Back row = 88 1st version, 86 2nd version, 89
Middle row = 57, 55 3rd version
Front row = 30, 55 1st version

Doug actually sent these before I had paid anything, as a surprise. A great guy, and a wonderful collection of machines. All are in perfect running order, very good cosmetic condition, and all have seen and will see semi-regular use.

Thanks Joe; I'm like a kid in a candy store about them.

Those are very nice condition Luxes.

Congratulations on acquiring those from Doug. Well cared for &/or restored.

Have you guys considered making another movie? or sequel movies?

Oh wait, WRONG Bob & Doug! That would be 'McKenzie', NOT ??? & Smith!!! Wrong thread too, my apologies guys. ~~LOL~~ (You know who, made me do that.)

Again, nice machines. [ I usually don't comment much on "other brands", however I couldn't pass up having fun with this thread. :-)) ]

Cheers & hagd all,

Bill

Oh yes, there's a sequel

The sequel "Bob and Doug: Its a LUX-urious Life", with a cast of tens and a Z-list director, was released last year to less than stellar reviews. However, receipts are expected to pick up when released to DVD; it's one of those "hidden gems".

Actually, I'm not a fan of the MacKenzie Brothers, but..

Doug, I have to say I've been beyond satisfied with the vacuums I've gotten from you. I used the 30 and 57 today on the laminate and for dusting, and for 50+ year old machines, they really do suck up a lot of dirt.

Can you remind me about the attachments...what machine does the floor brush with the black trim and the carpet nozzle with green-ish trim go with? I have so many attachments now I'm confused :)
