Hi all,

Just been having an interesting conversation with a friend about vacuums you remember on TV shows. Here's a few from the UK

battle of the vacuums on "One Foot In The Grave" -

Vax 2000 on 2point4children (LOVE this show!) 3mins25 onwards.

and and AEG Vampyr on the same show

any others?

Bill & Ben & Victor

In One Foot it appears that Victor is using a Band (similar to a Rotel or Spinney I think) which was a cheap import from Czechoslovakia - at one time these were teh cheapes cleaner you could buy in the UK

I remember well seeing the AEG "incident" on 2.4 when it was first broadcast, and actually always liked those AEG Vampyr cleaners too, although she might have found it better if she had extended the telescopic wand :)

I always thought it very sad that Gary Oleson (Ben) died at such a young age, as I always enjoyed him on 2.4.

I liked 2 point 4 children too

It was a sitcom with a bit of a twist. During a couple of seasons they did a pastiche of old American TV routines for their Christmas special - I dont know the origin of this one but it was always a favourite
"Relaxez Vous" - the routine starts 5.55 into the clip

I remember watching all these first time round. My parents were big fans of the show :). Relax et vous is a classic!

Sorry to drift a bit of topic. This one (over credits) is very clearly based on The Perry Como Show
