Hoover Special Manual

Here is a link to a scanned manual I had for a Hoover Special Models Instruction Booklet. It doesn't say 825 but the pics in the book look similar to the vac above.

Wow, that booklet is a real piece of Hoover history. You don't often see a "Special" instruction booklet; they're kind of rare.

The models pictured in the booklet are not 825, however. It looks like a rebuilt 541 and 725 and some other hybrids. Often, Hoover would change the appearance and/or color scheme when they rebuilt the vacuum into a Special. That strange double band around that one vacuum motor in the booklet never existed as a first-run model in Hoover's line-up. I'm guessing they did this to make the rebuilts look completely different from the originals. Fascinating...thanks so much again for scanning and posting this. That took a few megabytes, eh? JL
