On the other hand...

I am no dealer, for sure. And the fiasco of trying to get genuine Hoover bags in the last year was inexcusable. The fact that they shut down the Hoover Canada website is also inexcusable....

But....

I have to give them credit for still offering some of the best bagged uprights on the market right now: the Hoover Tempo, the Hoover Anniversary Windtunnels (manual and self-propelled) and that new Hoover Platinum Lightweight. For carpet cleaning, ease of use and low emissions, these are hard to beat.

Would love to know where TTI still has plants in the USA! he said somewhere in the interview that they exist....hmmmm.....

He said they had plants in N.America but not necessarily vacuum plants.. could be Ryobi power tool plants which they also own.

I'd take a broom and dust pan over that China made garbage any day. Atleast the broom will last for more than a year. And they can take their powertools and stick them were the sun don't shine. Maybe those can take the place of their thumbs!

The older Hoover parts, bags, motors, etc. are becoming a thing of the past real quick. My only advice to the Hoover guys is to stock up what you can while you can. Hopefully the NOS stuff will be in circulation for a decent while.

Matthew.....I agree that much of the Made in China vacs are

you should really give some of these bagged Hoover uprights a try! :-)

They are quite amazing....my parents' Self Propelled WindTunnel is going into its 8th year of service with no major problems. And the $100 Hoover Tempo is a very good basic machine for someone on a budget who can't afford a classic Kirby or high-tech Miele upright.

Actually, I think some of these Hoover bagged uprights are made in Mexico, IIRC, not China.

I can't speak about the Ryobi power tools though!!! :-)
