I have both a Hoover Floor Mate and a Dual V. I am on my 2nd Floor Mate. Wore the original model out (loved it) and I like my second one just as well.

Never bothered to use the Dual V on the hard floor because I heard mixed, at best, reviews of it and I was too satisfied with my Floor Mate to bother with swapping out the brushes and putting on the squeegee thing.

One day when the Dual V was out for carpet and the floors needed some work, I was curious enough to try it out. Swapped out the spin scrub brushes that are intended for floors and placed the rubber squeegee on it.

I was initially very DISsatisfied while using it. Compared to Floor Mate, it was very Clunky, Awkward and Loud. It seemed to use much more water and I wasn't sure how well it was picking it up. As opposed to the Floor Mate, there aren't separate scrub and pick up modes. I was ready to write it off for hard floors.

Long story short, and after repeating this 3 or 4 times, I was VERY pleasantly surprised at how clean my ceramic tile floors were. Seemingly more so than what I was used to with the Floor Mate. And again, I wasn't unhappy with that.

What do others think? The Floor mate is so much more convenient to use that it will certainly be my daily "floor" driver. And I don't scrub floors daily, but you get what I mean. But when I drag the Dual V out to do major carpet and upolstery work, I will definitely give my floors a Dual V treatment. Chris.

Not too bad of an idea....

I myself love using my Floor.A.Matic (incase yall were wondering witch one i have, its the yellow that matches my 1076 Convertible). I cant see myself using full sized a steam cleaner for my floors. It just seems a lot more simple to use something like a Floormate or a Floor.A.Matic.

Just my opinion.

John im surprised at you...........

You mean to tell me that you don't have a Floor.A.Matic to match your 1076???? Mista Hoover king, and faithful servant to the Hoover not the Hoover to you? I'm shocked! Just kidding LOL, but
seriously, is that not an easy item to find? i thought Floor.A.Matics were fairly easy to come across? Unless Im completely wrong, its obviously a from the early 70's cause Ive seen the last ones in comparison. the model is 3616. I was assuming it matched the 1076 cause the upper colored panel is the same yellow as the 1076 hood. I hpoe i'm not confusing you John.
all my best
Jason

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the point of the Floor-A-Matic was to match it's sister, the Dial-A-Matic! Is that the same color yellow as the Dial-A-Matic model 1157? Looks too light to match the Persian Gold (or as I prefer to call it "butterscotch yellow") Dial-A-Matic U5015.
