Have never seen a golden Classic Omega,,that would be awsome,,,does anybody have a pic of one?
I did see a red white and blue Super Sweep/American Lincoln in action one time,,was being used in a university library building on the KU campus,,was probablly around 1976/77. Were'nt those vacs made in those colors to comemorate the Bicentennial? Seems like i heard that once.

American Lincoln Super Sweep

Yes, I've only seen one or two of the red, white & blue American Lincoln Super Sweeps. I recall seeing one in a vacuum shop not far from where I live around 1986 when my father had just acquired a green American Lincoln Super Sweep (which I still have) ala curbside. Right after 9/11 Oreck produced an XL-2800 upright in red, white & blue with a matching blue compact canister. I'd like to have the Oreck XL-2800 "RadioVac" with the radio built into the handle. I have a Universal tank with the "tattle tale" light. In fact, it even came with a letter, dated 1947 where the original owner wrote Landers, Frary & Clark complaining that the tattle tale light flickered on and off intermittently. It still does it, so I guess they never bothered getting it fixed....

I have been so fortunate.....

that I have acquired dream machines without even knowing they were dream machines! My "ultimate" dream machine, one that I never thought I would even see again, let alone own - I've had for two years now. New dream machines keep showing up for me!

Having said that, here is my new list:

___________

See?

Douglas Deluxe Twin Vac Canister with Powered Brush (ok this one is an obscure oddball)
Douglas Hydro Flow Home Cleaning Unit (box shaped wet/dry canister vac/shampooer on wheels), jack of all trades and even more obscure)
Hoover Dimension 1000
Kenmore badged Hoover Dimension 1000 (yes such a vac existed and are very rare indeed)
The Holy Grail of pristine 1983 Kenmore 4.1 canisters (last year of the square 5023 bagged machines) with infinitely variable motor speed and the off/on/floor switch on a perfect hose with the correct brown tools in their tray on the lid. Ok we can dream, right?
A square Kenmore 5023 bagged Frankenvac made from one of those old square plastic Kenmore bodies, a modern high suction and high airflow Ametek Lamb Advantek series motor, a ten foot hose with the off/on/floor control on a gas pump style nozzle from the home central vacuum industry and the correct wand to attach this to a Wessel-Werk EBK-360 floor brush. The body would be modified in back to accept a modern HEPA exhaust filter (not as hard to do as you might imagine) and a foam layer applied to the access panel to prevent leakage and force the exhaust out the exhaust filter and suppress sound, again something the is very doable. It would use HEPA bags for Numatic or Riccar vacs, with the Numatic bag having more capacity but requiring you to fold over the cardboard end a little to make it fit.
First gen Kenmore 5055 bagged machine with infinitely variable motor speed.
Kenmore Whispertone canister with infinitely variable motor speed (Kenmores of that era with infinitely variable motor speed are pretty rare, as are their hoses)
TOL Panasonic Jet Flo canister with adjustable motor speed and that vacs powered floor brush (not the same as the Panasonic brush sold to Kenmore, Hayden, Centec, Nutone, etc.)
Singer DLC 400 with the correct powered floor brush

Oreck Dutch Tech canister vac
