Had my eye on is auction had been only 1 bid for $9.95 for the longest time. Conversed with the seller about a few issues and if the price stayed low I'd bid, but it didn't. Hope someone here got this, I know they are rare

they wanted $685.99 for worldwide postage! I usually have to pay some sort of customs charge & VAT too..so it's too much!!

'...they wanted $685.99 for worldwide postage!'

That's ridiculous! I can't remember exactly how much postage I paid for mine, but I think about $70 at most!

Well, Graeme from Hooverland noticed the auction...and that was why I saw it.

Perhaps if I'd emailed the seller I could have talked them into sending it for less...using a more suitable courier?

Hoover Lark 14

I have one that I absolutely love. I remember seeing them on the Hoover display at the local dept. store. Back in the early 50's when my grandmother bought her. Hoover 62.
I was very lucky, as Tom Anderson and I went to visit Don
Connors Appliance Repair and Sales. Which was about a 40 min.
drive from Canton. He had sold off most of his collection a year or two (I think) before Tom and I visited him. Probably
back in 2007. There was the burgandy red one and the blue 14,
along with a couple of Dial a Matics left. He said we could have anything that was left. So I spoke up trying to get the drop on Tom (who needed for NO more Hoovers). So I got them
both!! For free, what a sweet deal. I gave the burgnady one
to Jeff Schaff in Galion, 2 years ago when I moved from my house to this apt. I really enjoy using it !!

I never found the burgundy one attractive in any way for some reason. Have childhood memories of the blue/white and(just a bit of)red one. Who knows someday I might stumble across one at price I'm willing to pay...

This is the Lark 12 Norm was talking about, that he gave me when he was getting ready to move from his house to his apartment. A really great little machine, and a wonderful gift. Thanks again, Norm!
