Hello everyone...

I have an Electrolux Discovery upright. Very clean and the motor seems to be good but the brushroll won’t spin so I imagine it needs a new belt. I cannot get the base plate off. There are four screws. I took them out and it won’t budge. Looks like there might be some clips, but I can’t figure out how to work them.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Mark

Lift off the top

The top hood is what lifts off not the base plate on those upright lux's.

Hello
I have about 3 of these machines and sometimes get them in for repair at my home repair shop. yes the top of the nozzle is to be removed by prying it off using a flat blade screw driver, when doing this be sure to be careful not to crack the hood so try and pry gently. but before going through this trouble hit the reset button located on the Back of the machine on the motor housing.
hope this helps
Mike

Thanks...

Thank you. That did the trick. I was able to get the top off and clean it out. Didn't seem to need to reset it. Works great.
