Has anyone heard anything about Elektrapure Canister vacuums. It is made by the same company that makes filter Queen. I just bought a brand new one on Ebay for $100.00. I tried to do research online but found nothing. Just curious. I did find a place that sells the bags but thats it.

I think you got a good deal on that. Tom showed me one a few years ago, and it seems like a really solid vacuum. I'm not wild about the FQ power nozzle (Douglas?), but the machine itself is very good.

I have an electrapure vacuum just like yours-mine doesn't have the powernozzle or tools.A vacuum dealer gave it to me becuase it was missing the parts.Mine works OK.Its an interesting machine.

I got to use one of these the last time I was in Spokane visiting Mark Turbyfill. He had bought a couple of them from someone, new in the box to re-sell in his shop. They were very good machines, well made, with great suction but I really didn't care for the power nozzle either.

I sold a few ElektraPure canisters. They are indeed good machines. HMI (manufacturer of Filter Queen) acquired the right to the product when they bought a European factory. This explains why they equipped it with the same Power Nozzle they had used on earlier Filter Queens and Princesses. Definitely not a Douglas Power Nozzle. HMI was not successful with the product and sold the rights and tooling to it to Electric Sweeper Service Co. (ESSCO), the parts wholesaler which serves the vac shop industry. I buy most of my replacement parts from ESSCO, they are a fine bunch. However, according to ESSCO, there was a problem with one of the molds, which produced a major part of the ElektraPure's main body. Either it became damaged, or ESSCO didn't receive it in their purchase. The result was that they could not continue to manufacture the machine. It was put on reduced closeout pricing and the remaining machines were sold to vac shops at very attractive prices. I bought a few and sold them. One lady who bought one is a teller at the bank I deal with, and she loves her machine. A couple of weeks ago, she brought her sister in to buy a vacuum, and I'm sure the sister would have bought an ElektraPure had they still been available. Instead I sold her a TrendVac, laregely because I showed her that it was also a high quality machine, and explained that it used the same Ametek/Lamb Motor, and that the TrendVac Power Nozzle, though not made by the same people, is quite similar to the smaller HMI Power Nozzle as used on the ElektrPure. she is also happy with that machine. I stock replacement genuine ElektraPure bags, as they are still available from ESSCO. I haven't needed any other replacement parts, and Power Nozzle parts are the same as Filter Queen Model 48 Power Nozzle parts, except for the color of the housing.

Thank you for the responses. That sure explains why all my searching on the internet under filter queen and ElektraPure didnt turn anything up. Im glad to hear that the bags are still available.
