Yeah, I have just a basic Kenmore Progressive Upright, it is not the fancy one with the direct drive or anything. But mine has a VERY loud brushroll sound, and it causes the whole base to vibrate. Did it do this originally new? I am just a bit curious, that way I know what to replace. thanks,
chase

I had one a few years back, bearing on belt end had gotten hot and melted the retain slot, that one was noisy, might give it a look.

Mine doesn't vibrate the whole base, but the brushroll really vibrates the carpet!
